Detection Condition

DTC is set, when actual engine speed is 200 RPM higher than expected for 14 seconds, brake pedal is depressed (brake switch is on) and steering wheel is held straight (power steering pressure switch is off). PCM will not set DTC when atmospheric pressure is less than 21.3 in. Hg or intake air temperature is less than 14°F (-10°C). This is a continuous monitor. MIL is illuminated if PCM detects malfunction in 2 consecutive drive cycles.
