Test 6: 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) Module Does Not Respond To NGS Tester

- Turn ignition switch OFF. Inspect 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) control module connector (H281) for corrosion or physical damage. See Fig 1. If connector is okay, go to next step. Repair connectors as necessary, then retest system.
- Using DVOM, measure resistance of Light Blue/White wire between 4WD control module connector (H281) terminal No. 4 and DLC terminal No. 7. See Figure and Fig 2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Light Blue/White wire between 4WD control module and DLC. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Inspect all 4WD control module connectors for corrosion or damaged terminals. Repair connectors as necessary, then retest system. If problem persists, replace 4WD control module. See appropriate ELECTRONIC CONTROLS article in TRANSMISSION SERVICE & REPAIR.
