Canister Vent Control Solenoid Closing Procedure

CAUTION: The Canister Vent Control (CVC) solenoid must not be energized for more than 9 minutes at one time. Once CVC solenoid is energized and de-energized, adequate time must be allowed for component to cool adequately. Failure to allow component to cool may create a false failure in the diagnostics, causing unnecessary repairs.
  1. Connect scan tool to DLC-2 and select OUTPUT TEST MODE.
  2. Select EVAPCV PID.
  3. Select ALL OFF mode.
  4. Close CVC solenoid by pushing START button on scan tool.
