Transaxle Range Switch: Installation
- Rotate the manual shaft to the converter housing side fully, then return 2 notches to set the Neutral position. Align the protrusion and mark as shown. See Fig 1 . Install the TR switch while aligning the protrusion and groove as shown. See Fig 2 .
- Turn the TR switch so that the neutral hole is in line with the flat, straight surfaces on either side of the manual shaft. See Fig 3 . Hand-tighten the TR switch bolts. Perform the TR switch adjustment. See TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Install the manual selector lever nut and washer. Set the adjustable wrench to hold the manual selector lever. See Fig 4 . Using a torque wrench, tighten the manual selector nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the clip as shown in the figure.
- Verify that the manual selector lever range position and TR switch are aligned, then connect the selector cable. Connect the TR switch connector. Install the splash shield. Install the air cleaner component and fresh-air duct. Connect the negative battery cable. Inspect operation of the TR switch.
CAUTION:
Do not use an impact wrench. Hold the manual selector lever when tightening the manual shaft nut, or the transaxle may be damaged.
