On-Vehicle Testing
- Start engine. Connect scan tool positive test lead to VSS harness connector terminal "B". See Fig 1. Using scan tool, select DIGITAL MEASUREMENT SYSTEM, then FREQUENCY METER. Press LINK key to select VS PID. Select PID/DATA MONITOR, then PCM. Select VS and press START.
- The frequency meter screen will be displayed. Ensure threshold voltage is set to 2 volts DC. Check VSS frequency as related to speed. If VSS frequency is not within specification, check VSS circuit. See VSS SPECIFICATIONS table. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
