DTC P0011: Variable Valve Timing System, Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced: Condition
DTC is set when variable valve timing Oil Control Valve (OCV) is over-advanced by 10 degrees for one second with OCV system control in maximum retarded. This is a continuous monitor. MIL is illuminated when PCM detects malfunction during first drive cycle. Possible causes are:
- OCV malfunction.
- OCV spool valve stuck in advance position.
- Variable valve timing actuator is stuck in advance position.
- Loose timing belt or improper valve timing cased by a damaged timing belt.
- PCM malfunction.
