Diagnostic Aids

This test is only intended to diagnose; malfunction of ABS CM.

  1. Clear DTCs from ABS CM memory and recheck system operation. See CLEARING CODES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Start engine and road test vehicle over 6 MPH or more for more than 1 minute. Slow vehicle and come to a complete stop. Recheck for ABS related DTCs. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Go to next step.
  2. If no ABS related DTCs are present, a temporary poor contact in wiring may have occurred and ABS is now functioning properly. If the same ABS related DTC is present, replace ABS CM. If any other ABS related DTCs are present, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table. Perform appropriate diagnostic test(s).
