Component Tests: Tachometer
NOTE:
DO NOT allow engine speed to exceed allowable range, engine could be damaged.
Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Loosen screws for terminals "A", "B" and "C" on rear of tachometer. See Fig 1 . DO NOT loosen screws too much, or resistance cannot be measured properly. Measure resistance between indicated terminals. If resistance is not as specified, replace tachometer.
