Tank Pressure Control Valve (Miata)

  1. Remove Tank Pressure Control Valve (TPCV), located above fuel tank.
  2. Apply air pressure to inlet port (on same side as electrical connector). At pressures less than .03 psi (.20 kPa), air should not flow. At pressures more than .14 psi (.98 kPa), air should flow through valve.
  3. Using a vacuum pump, apply vacuum to inlet port. With vacuum at more than .3 in. Hg (-.98 kPa), air should flow through valve. Replace TPCV as necessary.
