Test 5: No Temperature Control From Front Control Panel
- Operate engine until coolant is at normal operating temperature. Go to next step.
- Check front A/C-heater unit air mix linkage, crank, shaft and cable for lubrication, damage and proper installation. Repair or replace as necessary. After repair, go to step 8 . If no problem is found, go to next step.
- Check air mix cable for correct installation and adjustment. Reinstall and/or adjust air mix cable. See AIR MIX CABLE under ADJUSTMENTS. After repair, go to step 8 . If no problem is found, go to next step.
- Check A/C-heater unit for the following:
- Bevel Gear Set Properly Engaged
- Air Mix Cable Properly Engaged And Adjusted
- Air Mix Cable Damaged Or Deformed
If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair or replace as necessary. After repair, go to step 8 .
- Check front A/C-heater unit for any foreign material obstruction limiting movement of air mix door. Remove obstruction. After repair, go to step 8 . If no problem is found, go to next step.
- Check front A/C-heater unit air mix door for damage or improper installation. Repair air mix door as necessary. After repair, go to step 8 . If no problem is found, go to next step.
- Check all heater hoses, pipes and connections for leakage, looseness or damage. Repair or replace as necessary. After repair, go to next step. If no problems are found, A/C-heater operation is normal. Recheck A/C-heater system malfunction symptoms.
- Operate A/C-heater system to verify repair. If A/C-heater unit operates properly in every temperature setting, repair is complete. If A/C-heater unit does not operate properly in every temperature setting, recheck malfunction symptoms and return to step 1 .
