On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. Place front wheels on chassis dynamometer/roller, or raise and support front of vehicle on level ground with safety stands.
  2. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Verify TCS OFF light is off. If TCS OFF light is off, go to next step. If TCS OFF light stays on even after engine is at normal operating temperature, a failure has been detected by ABS CM. Check for ABS related DTCs. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If ABS related DTCs are present, perform appropriate diagnostic test in DIAGNOSTIC TESTS  . If no ABS related DTCs are present, go to next step.
  3. Shift transaxle to Second (M/T) or Drive (A/T). Depress accelerator pedal for 5 seconds. If engine speed is held low and TCS indicator light starts flashing, system is operating correctly. If engine speed is not held low and TCS indicator light does not start flashing, see appropriate symptom in TROUBLE SHOOTING  .
