Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. ABS CM is located near brake master cylinder. See Figure .
  2. Remove charcoal canister. Disconnect brakelines from hydraulic unit and install screw plugs into hydraulic unit openings. Disconnect electrical connector from ABS CM. Cover connector with tape to protect from brake fluid.
  3. Remove ABS hydraulic unit mounting bolts/nuts. Remove ABS hydraulic unit and control module assembly from vehicle. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure fittings are clean. DO NOT use chemical solvents to clean threads or fittings. Tighten bolts/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
