Active Command Modes Procedure

Active command mode allows devices such as relays or solenoids to be actuated through NGS scan tool. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Ensure test equipment is properly attached. Program scan tool using the following steps:

• Select VEHICLE & ENGINE SELECTION.
• Select NEW VEHICLE YEAR & MODEL (1999 or 2000).
• Select DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK.
• Select ABS-ANTI LOCK BRAKE MODULE.
• Select ACTIVE COMMAND MODES.
• Select ABS OUTPUT CONTROL, INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL II or DESIRED ENGINE TORQUE.
• Turn ignition switch to ON position or start engine and allow to idle.
• Select appropriate active command mode. For active command modes, see 1999 ACTIVE COMMAND MODE DEFINITIONS  or 2000 ACTIVE COMMAND MODE DEFINITIONS  tables.
