On-Vehicle Testing
- Start engine. Connect scan tool (+) test lead to VSS harness connector terminal "B". See Fig 1. Using scan tool, select DIGITAL MEASUREMENT SYSTEM, then FREQUENCY METER. Press LINK key to select VS PID. Select PID/DATA MONITOR, then PCM. Select VS and press START.
- The frequency meter screen will be displayed. Ensure threshold voltage is set to 2 volts DC. Check VSS frequency as related to speed. If VSS frequency is not within specification, check VSS circuit. See VSS SPECIFICATIONS table. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
