Battery Drain Test
- Shut all doors and turn off all accessories. Disconnect negative battery cable. Connect an in-line ammeter between negative battery terminal and negative battery cable. Amperage draw should not exceed .05 amp.
- If draw is excessive, ensure glove box light, luggage compartment light, or hood light is not causing draw. Pull instrument panel fuse box fuses, one at a time, until amperage draw reduces. If drain cannot be located, pull engine compartment fuses until draw reduces. Check component(s) and circuit in question.
