Test No. 1

  1. Check 30-amp POWER SEAT fuse located in joint box, near left kick panel. If fuse is blown, replace fuse (repair wiring if necessary). If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Using DVOM, measure voltage at Yellow wire terminal of power seat control switch 6-pin connector (backprobe connector terminal). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair Yellow wire between fuse and control switch.
  3. Disconnect power seat control switch 6-pin connector. Check continuity between Black wire terminal of control switch connector and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair Black wire between control switch and ground.
  4. Reconnect the power seat control switch connector. Using DVOM, measure the voltage at the specified terminals of the power seat motor connectors (backprobe connector terminal) with the control switch in specified position. Refer to VOLTAGE TEST  . Refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If battery voltage is present at all terminals of all motor connectors witch control switch in specified position, check power seat motors. See MOTOR TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. If battery voltage is not present at any terminal of any motor connector, check power seat control switch. See CONTROL SWITCH TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS.
