Test No. 8
- Turn ignition switch on. Measure voltage at terminal "D" (Blue wire) of wiper motor connector (backprobe connector). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Blue wire between joint box and wiper motor.
- Turn wiper switch on. With wiper/washer switch in LO position, measure voltage at terminal "B" (Blue/Black wire) of wiper motor connector (backprobe connector). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is present, turn wiper/washer switch off and go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check wiper motor. See appropriate FRONT WIPER MOTOR TEST under COMPONENT TESTS .
- Remove steering column shrouds. Access combination switch connector. With wiper/washer switch in LO position, measure voltage at terminal "K" (Blue/Black wire) of combination switch connector (backprobe connector). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is present, check wiper/washer switch. See STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article. If battery voltage is not present, check for open in wiring harness between combination switch and wiper motor. Repair wiring harness as necessary.
