Test No. 2
- Turn ignition on. With wiper/washer switch in LO position, measure voltage at terminal "C" (Blue/White wire) of wiper motor connector (backprobe connector). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . With wiper/washer switch in HI position, measure voltage at terminal "A" (Blue/Red wire) of wiper motor connector (backprobe connector). If battery voltage is present at both terminals, check wiper motor. See appropriate FRONT WIPER MOTOR test under COMPONENT TESTS . If battery voltage is not present at both terminals, go to next step.
- Remove steering column shrouds. Access combination switch connector. With wiper/washer switch in LO position, measure voltage at terminal "N" (Blue/White wire) of combination switch connector (backprobe connector). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . With wiper/washer switch in HI position, measure voltage at terminal "L" (Blue/Red wire) of combination switch connector (backprobe connector). If battery voltage is present at both terminals, check for open in wiring harness between combination switch and wiper motor. Repair wiring harness as necessary. If battery voltage is not present at both terminals, check wiper/washer switch. See STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
