DTC 10: Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor

  1. Check for engine control system related DTCs. See appropriate article:

If no DTCs are present, go to next step. If any DTCs are present, repair as necessary.

  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS/TCS control module connectors. ABS/TCS control module is located behind left side of instrument panel. Start engine. Measure voltage between terminals 1I and 1B (ground) at ABS/TCS control module connector. See Fig 1 . If voltage is less than 4 volts, turn ignition off and go to next step. If voltage is 4 volts or more, go to step 5).
  3. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between terminal 1I at ABS/TCS control module and terminal 3A at Engine Control Module (ECM) connector. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . ECM is located behind front of shifter console. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair wiring harness as necessary.
  4. Measure resistance between ground and terminal 1I at ABS/TCS control module connector. If resistance is 10 ohms or less, repair wiring harness as necessary. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace ECM.
  5. With engine still idling and ABS/TCS control module connectors disconnected, measure voltage between terminals 1K and 1B (ground) at ABS/TCS control module connector. If voltage is more than 4 volts, turn ignition off and go to next step. If voltage is 4 volts or less, turn ignition off and go to step 7).
  6. Check for continuity between terminal 1K at ABS/TCS control module and terminal 3U at ECM connector. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 or Fig 3 . If continuity exists, replace ECM. If continuity does not exist, repair wiring harness as necessary.
  7. Turn ignition on (engine off). Measure voltage between terminals 1S and 1B (ground) at ABS/TCS control module connector. If voltage is about 12 volts with accelerator pedal depressed, and one volt or less with accelerator pedal released, replace ABS/TCS control module. If voltage is not as specified, check throttle position sensor and wiring harness. See appropriate article:

Repair as necessary.
