Abs-4: Solenoid Valve Switch Closed

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect solenoid valve harness connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between switch terminal (Orange wire) of solenoid valve connector and valve body. See Figure. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, replace hydraulic unit. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between switch terminal (Orange wire) and ground terminal (Black wire) of solenoid valve connector. See Figure. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, replace hydraulic unit. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect ABS control module harness connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminal "F" of ABS control module harness connector and chassis ground. See Figure.
  4. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, repair short in solenoid valve switch wire between solenoid valve and ABS control module. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace ABS control module.
