Abs-3: Open Dump Solenoid Circuit

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect ABS control module harness connector.
  2. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminal "A" or terminal "B" of ABS control module harness connector and chassis ground. See Figure. If resistance is 1-3 ohms, replace ABS control module. If resistance is greater than 3 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect solenoid valve harness connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between dump solenoid terminal (Orange/Blue wire) and ground terminal (Black wire) of solenoid valve. See Figure.
  4. If resistance is 1-3 ohms, repair open in dump solenoid wire between solenoid valve and ABS control module. Check for dirty or loose terminals. If resistance is greater than 3 ohms, replace hydraulic unit.
