Control Valve Housing: Reassembly

  1. If tube seats were removed, coat with petroleum jelly and install with Tube Seat Installer (T74P-3504-M ). Coat bearing and seal surface of housing with petroleum jelly. Press bearing into housing using Installer (T65P-3524-A1 ) with metal covering rollers facing out. Bearing should rotate freely after installation.
  2. Coat NEW oil seal with power steering fluid. Drive seal, metal side out, into housing using Installer (T65P-3524-A1 ). DO NOT fully seat seal. Remove installer. Place snap ring on seal and finish driving seal in until snap ring seats in groove.
  3. Place dust seal in housing with dished rubber side facing out. Using Installer (T65P-3524-A1 ), press until seal is located behind undercut in input shaft. Apply generous amount of multipurpose grease to area between seal lips.
