Relay Box (Motor Relay Harness Test)

  1. Check fail-safe relay before proceeding. See RELAY BOX (FAIL-SAFE RELAY RESISTANCE TEST). If fail-safe relay is okay, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ABS control unit 18-pin connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect ABS control unit 18-pin connector terminals 2J (Black/Blue wire) and 2H (White/Green wire) to ground. See Figure .
CAUTION: When performing step 2, DO NOT allow hydraulic motor to operate for longer than 2 seconds.
  2. Ensure motor relay in relay box does not click. If motor relay clicks, check motor relay and wiring harness between motor relay and ABS control unit. Also ensure hydraulic motor does not operate. If hydraulic motor operates, check motor relay, ABS PUMP fuse (60-amp) and wiring harness between motor relay and hydraulic motor. Replace relay box as necessary.
