System Inoperative Using Transmitter

  1. Remove transmitter battery. Measure voltage across transmitter battery terminals. If at least 2.8 volts is not present, replace transmitter battery. If at least 2.8 volts is present, install transmitter battery to charge transmitter. Wait at least 5 seconds. Remove transmitter battery.
  2. Measure voltage across transmitter terminals (not battery terminals). If at least 2.8 volts is not present, replace transmitter. If at least 2.8 volts is present, measure voltage across transmitter terminals while pressing LOCK or UNLOCK switch. If 1.2 volts is not present, replace transmitter.
  3. If 1.2 volts is present, install transmitter battery. Check 15-amp ROOM fuse. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and/or repair wiring as necessary. If fuse is okay, measure voltage at Blue/Red wire terminal of door lock timer unit connector. If battery voltage is not present, repair Blue/Red wire between fuse and door lock timer unit.
  4. If battery voltage is present, disconnect door lock timer unit connector. Check continuity between ground and Black/Red wire terminal of door lock timer unit connector. If continuity does not exist, repair Black/Red wire between door lock timer unit and ground. If continuity exists, reconnect door lock timer unit connector. Measure voltage at Blue, Blue/Yellow and Brown wire terminals of door lock timer unit connector.
  5. If 5 volts is not present, check door lock timer unit. See DOOR LOCK TIMER UNIT  under COMPONENT TESTING. If 5 volts is present, measure voltage at the following terminals of front and rear keyless unit connectors:
    • Blue and Brown wire terminals (front keyless unit)
    • Blue/Yellow and Brown wire terminals (rear keyless unit).
  6. If 5 volts is not present, repair wiring between door lock timer unit and keyless unit. If 5 volts is present, disconnect front and rear keyless unit connectors. Check continuity between ground and Black/Red wire terminal of front and rear keyless unit connectors. If continuity does not exist, repair Black/Red wire between keyless unit and ground. If continuity exists, replace front and/or rear keyless unit(s).
