Removal & Installation

  1. Set engine to TDC of No. 1 cylinder. Disconnect sensor connector. Note position of wiring connector. Remove camshaft position sensor from top of synchronizer assembly.
  2. Install Synchronizer Positioner (49 UN01 077) aligner to synchronizer assembly. Ensure synchronizer vane is visible in slot of aligner and aligner boss fits into notch on base of synchronizer assembly.
  3. Remove hold-down bolt. Remove synchronizer assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure wiring connector and sensor connector are positioned as before removal (sensor connector faces rearward). Remove Synchronizer Positioner (49 UN01 077) aligner and install camshaft position sensor.
