No-Load Test

Measure and record base voltage. See BASE VOLTAGE. Start engine. Turn off all electrical loads (leave doors closed and foot off of brake pedal). With engine running at 1500 RPM, check battery voltage.

• If voltage is about 2 volts greater than base voltage, go to LOAD TEST.
• If voltage is more than about 2 volts greater than base voltage, go to HIGH VOLTAGE TEST.
• If voltage is less than about 2 volts greater than base voltage, go to LOW VOLTAGE TEST.
