Test No. 11

  1. Measure voltage at terminal 2R (Blue/White wire) of CPU 20-pin connector. See Figure. With door key cylinder turned to unlocked position, voltage should be zero. With door key cylinder in any other position, voltage should be 5 volts. If voltage is not as specified, go to step 3).
  2. If voltage is as specified, measure voltage at terminal 2L (Yellow/Black wire) of CPU 20-pin connector. With door key cylinder in locked position, voltage should be 2.5 volts. With door key cylinder turned to unlocked position, voltage should be zero. With door key cylinder in any other position, voltage should be 5 volts. If voltage is not as specified, go to step 6). If voltage is as specified, replace CPU.
  3. Disconnect CPU 20-pin connector. With driver door key cylinder turned to unlocked position, check continuity between ground and terminal 2R (Blue/White wire) of CPU 20-pin connector. If continuity exists, replace CPU.
  4. If continuity does not exist, remove driver door trim panel. Disconnect driver door key cylinder switch 3-pin connector. With door key cylinder turned to unlocked position, check continuity between terminals "A" (Blue/White wire) and "B" (Black wire) of driver door key cylinder switch connector. If continuity does not exist, replace driver door key cylinder switch.
  5. If continuity exists, check continuity between ground and terminal "B" (Black wire) of driver door key cylinder switch connector. If continuity does not exist, repair wiring between ground and driver door key cylinder switch. If continuity exists, repair wiring between CPU and driver door key cylinder switch.
  6. Disconnect CPU 20-pin connector. With passenger door key cylinder turned to unlocked position, check continuity between ground and terminal 2L (Yellow/Black wire) of CPU 20-pin connector. If continuity exists, replace CPU.
  7. If continuity does not exist, remove passenger door trim panel. Disconnect passenger door key cylinder switch 3-pin connector. With door key cylinder turned to unlocked position, check continuity between terminals "A" (Yellow/Black wire) and "B" (Black wire) of passenger door key cylinder switch connector. If continuity does not exist, replace passenger door key cylinder switch.
  8. If continuity exists, check continuity between ground and terminal "B" (Black wire) of passenger door key cylinder switch connector. If continuity does not exist, repair wiring between ground and passenger door key cylinder switch. If continuity exists, repair wiring between CPU and passenger door key cylinder switch.
