Clearing Trouble Codes

Disconnect negative battery cable, and depress brake pedal for at least 20 seconds. Reconnect battery cable. Reconnect self-diagnostic checker and system selector. See Figure . Turn ignition on, but DO NOT start engine for 6 seconds. Start and run engine at 2000 RPM for 3 minutes. Verify no codes are displayed.

NOTE: Trouble Codes 6, 12, 14, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 and 66 are automatic transmission-related problems. If codes are present, see TRANSMISSION SERVICE & REPAIR article.
