Power Window Motor

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove door trim panel and water shield. See DOOR TRIM PANEL & WATER SHIELD  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect motor electrical connector.
  2. Disconnect regulator mechanism from motor. Using appropriate jumper wires, supply power to motor electrical connector with an ammeter in series. See Fig 1 .
  3. Operate motor and observe current draw. Current draw for no-load test should not exceed 4 amps and should not fluctuate. Reversal of electrical connections at motor connector will reverse direction of motor rotation. Replace power window motor if current draw exceeds 4 amps.
