Retrieving Trouble Codes
- Turn ignition off. Diagnosis connector is located in left rear side of engine compartment. See Figure
. Connect Self-Diagnosis Checker (49-H018-9A1) and System Selector (49-B019-9A0) to diagnosis connector and ground. Set select switch of self-diagnosis checker to position "A". Set system select dial of system selector to position "3" and test switch to self test position.
- Turn ignition on. Ensure 88 flashes on display and buzzer sounds for 3 seconds when ignition is turned on. If 88 does not flash on display, check power supply circuit and ground wiring. If 88 flashes and buzzer sounds for 20 seconds or longer, check for short between diagnosis connector terminal TBS and ground. Replace ABS control unit as necessary and repeat step 2).
- Record all codes. See Fig 1
. Refer to SYSTEM TESTING under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING for specific procedures. After repairs, erase all trouble codes. See ERASING TROUBLE CODES under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
