Code 9: Coolant THERMOSENSOR

Is there poor connection at connector? If yes, repair or replace. If no, is resistance of water thermo sensor within .057-84.5 kohms? If not, replace water thermo sensor. If yes, measure 1C terminal voltage of emission control unit. See PIN VOLTAGE CHART S and SENSOR RANGE CHARTS article. If 12 volts present at terminal 1C, possible cause is open circuit in wiring harness. If zero volt at terminal 1C, possible cause is short in wiring harness from 1C to water thermo sensor or emission control unit is faulty.
