Gearshift Linkage

  1. Move gearshift lever to the "P" position. Loosen lock nuts "A" and "B" and ensure that transmission is in the "P" position. Using a feeler gauge, adjust clearance between the adjustment lever and lock nut "A" to .039" (1.0 mm). See Fig 1.

  2. Tighten lock nut "B" to 69-95 INCH lbs. (7.8-11 N.m). Measure clearance between guide plate and guide pin in the "P" position. Repeat procedure in the "N" and "D" positions. Front side clearance should be approximately .039" (1.0 mm) and rear side should be approximately .020" (0.5 mm). See Fig 2.
