System Function Test: 929
- Turn ignition to "ON" position. Ensure that METER (10-amp) fuse is okay. Turn main switch to "ON" position. Check for battery voltage at Brown/White wire of cruise control unit connector. If battery voltage is not present, check continuity of wire between METER fuse, main switch and control unit. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
- Ensure that no voltage is present at Black wire of control unit. If voltage is present, a faulty ground is detected. If no voltage is present, check that clutch and brake pedals are not depressed and that voltage is available at Yellow wire of control unit.
- If voltage is available at Yellow wire of control unit, clutch and/or brake switch(s) are defective. With stoplights off, check that there is no voltage present at White/Green wire of control unit. If voltage is present, stoplight switch or stoplight and tailight checker are defective.
- Lift and support vehicle. Start vehicle and allow wheels to rotate. Check for pulsating voltage of 0-5 volts at Green wire of control unit. If pulsating voltage of 0-5 volts is not present, at Green wire, speed sensor is or its wiring is defective.
- To check the combination switch, turn to "SET" position and check voltage at Light Green/Red wire of control unit connector. No voltage should be present. Turn switch to "COAST" position. Check for approximately 8 volts at Blue/Red wire of control unit connector.
- Turn switch to "RESUME" position and check for approximately 8 volts at Blue/White wire of control unit connector. If correct voltage is not present, combination switch or switch wiring are defective.
- Check for battery voltage at the Brown/White wire of control unit connector. If voltage is not present, check for an open or short in Brown/White wire of to main switch actuator. Raise and support vehicle. Start engine and drive vehicle at 31 MPH.
- Turn "SET" switch on and check for battery voltage at Red/Blue wire of control unit connector. Turn "COAST" switch on and check for battery voltage at Light Blue wire of control unit connector. Depress clutch or brake pedal and check for battery voltage at Yellow wire of control unit connector.
- If results are not as stated above, check actuator for defect. See ACTUATOR TEST . If actuator is okay, wiring to actuator defective. If all voltage readings are okay, actuator cable or control unit are defective.
