Torque Converter

  1. Torque converter is a sealed unit and cannot be disassembled for service. Inspect for damage and cracks. Replace torque converter if defective. Remove any rust from pilot hub and boss of converter. If converter boss bushing inner diameter exceeds 2.090" (53.08 mm), replace torque converter.
  2. Flush torque converter. After converter is removed from cleaner, thoroughly drain solvent through hub. Add about .53 qt. (.5L) clean ATF to converter. Agitate fluid by hand. Drain ATF from converter.
