ISSUE & TIP

Replacing the altemator on 1988 Mazda 323 Turbo models is made easier by removing the right engine mount, then jacking up the engine with a wooden board under the oil pan.

It may seem easier to remove the drive axle, but much practice with both methods has proved otherwise for us. Remember to look for burnt wiring while you're in there.
