Temperature Gauge

  1. If temperature gauge needle does not move at all, check for blown fuse or loose harness connector. If fuel gauge is also inoperative, inspect instrument voltage regulator.
  2. Disconnect sending unit connector wire. Connect ohmmeter to connector wire and ground.
  3. Use TEMPERATURE GAUGE RESISTANCE  table to check gauge reading. Turn ignition switch to "ON" position and ensure that needle position corresponds to resistance measurement. SeeFig 1 .
  4. Allow 2 minutes for needle to stabilize. Allowable limit of needle deflection is twice the width of the needle. If gauge readings are not as shown in tables, replace sending unit.
