Piston Pin Replacement: Installation

  1. Ensure connecting rod oil hole is opposite "F" mark on piston. See Figure . Apply engine oil to piston pin and to small end of connecting rod. Install piston pin between piston pin guide and Piston Pin Installer (49 G030 042).
  2. Press pin into piston until piston pin guide contacts Block (49 G030 041). See Fig 1 . Force required to install pin should be 1102-3307 lbs. (500-1500 kg). If force required is not within specifications. Replace piston pin or connecting rod. Ensure that connecting rod moves freely after assembly.
