Idle Switch (GLC)

  1. Bring engine to normal operating temperature. Stop engine and disconnect electrical connector from switch. Connect ohmmeter to Brown/Red and Green/Yellow terminals of switch connector.
  2. Depress accelerator pedal. Verify continuity between terminals. To adjust accelerator switch, bring engine to normal operating temperature and run at idle speed. Adjust idle if necessary.
  3. Loosen accelerator switch adjusting screw completely. Gradually tighten adjusting screw until a "clicking" sound is heard. Complete adjustment by turning adjusting screw an additional 1 1/4-1 1/2 turns and retest switch.
