Idle Speed

  1. With engine warm and tachometer connected to engine, check idle speed. If idle speed is not at specification, adjust idle speed as follows: Confirm play of accelerator cable. Play should be within .40-1.20" (1.0-3.0 mm).
    NOTE: To lengthen play of accelerator cable, loosen lock nut of cable of cable bracket and tighten adjusting nut.
  2. Loosen lock nut of idle adjusting bolt and adjust play by turning idle adjusting bolt.
NOTE: Idle speed will increase when adjusting bolt is turned right and decrease when turned left.
