Chrysler Corp., Courier 2000 cc, and Mazda B2000 Pickup and 626

Turn ignition switch "OFF". Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between terminal "C" of the control module (ignitor) and its metallic reverse surface. See Fig 1. If the module is installed on the distributor, make check between terminal "C" and distributor housing (ground).
Perform test in same manner as a diode test, alternately switching the leads of the ohmmeter. If there is continuity or if there is an open circuit in both directions, the control module is defective and must be replaced.
NOTE: Only the transistors in the switching section of the control module are evaluated by this test. The module may still be defective, even if the test shows good. If control module checks OK, but system does not operate properly, substitute a known good module and attempt to start vehicle.
