Power Roof Opening Panel Initialization

Initialization
WARNING:
Keep objects and body parts clear of the glass panel when carrying out the initialization procedure. During the initialization procedure, the glass panel closes with high force and cannot detect objects in its path. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
NOTE:
If the roof opening panel motors are removed and then reinstalled, they must be returned to the same location (driver side or passenger side) they were removed from, with the roof opening panel in the same state (opened or closed) they were in when the motors were removed, or the system will not function correctly or re-initialization may not be possible.
NOTE:
The roof opening panel motors must be initialized when repairs are carried out on the roof opening panel system, including any time the roof opening panel motors has been removed, the roof opening glass or shield (fixed panoramic or front sliding) has been removed or adjusted, or the roof opening frame has been serviced.
NOTE:
Carrying out the procedure below will initialize both the roof opening panel glass and the roof opening panel shield (sunshade) motor.
NOTE:
A fully functional system features One Touch Open or One Touch Close. If these features are not available, the system requires initialization.
NOTE:
The battery must be fully charged while performing the initialization procedure. The procedure cannot be completed if the battery is in a low state of charge.
- Open the driver side door and leave it open for the entire procedure.
- Without stepping on the brake pedal, press the PUSH TO START button to enter in the Accessory Mode.

NOTE: Below steps are only applicable if the One Touch Open and One Touch Close features are functioning.
- Move the Sliding Glass to the fully Closed position and the Shield to the fully Opened position.
- Switch the Accessory Mode OFF and then quickly turn it back ON.
- Press and hold the Shield Open switch for at least 15 seconds. This will deinitialize the roof opening panel motors.
- Verify that the One Touch Close feature is no longer available for the Shield.
- Press and hold the Glass Close switch, the glass will hit the front hard stop and move to FULL CLOSE, then the Shield will do the same.
- If the Shield does not move to the front hard stop, release the Glass Close switch, wait 5 seconds and then repeat this step.
- If the Shield reverses to MID POSITION after hitting the front hard stop, proceed to step 7.
- When all movements have stopped, release the switch then press and hold it again. The Shield will move to FULL OPEN, the glass will move to FULL OPEN then back to FULL CLOSE, the Shield will move to FULL CLOSE and, additionally, the Shield might move to MID POSITION.
- If the procedure is interrupted before completion, switch Accessory Mode from ON to OFF, wait 5 seconds with the Accessory Mode OFF, and repeat the entire procedure.
- Verify successful initialization by opening the Shield with the Shield Open switch. Repeat the procedure if the One Touch Open and One Touch Close features are not available, or if either panel reverses when attempting to Close.
