Pinpoint Test M: DTC U0301

  1. Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK for schematic and connector information.

    Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    The GSM communicates with the PCM through CAN and HS-CAN2 messages.

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    GSM U0301:00 Software Incompatibility with ECM/PCM: No Sub Type Information The GSM detected the incorrect PCM software is installed.

    Possible Sources 

    • PCM calibration
    • PCM

  2. M1 PROGRAM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) WITH THE LATEST SOFTWARE

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear all DTCs from the GSM

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM and GSM self-tests.

    Is DTC U0301 present in the GSM? 

    Yes  INSTALL a new PCM. Refer to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) .
    No  The fault is not present at this time. It may have been caused by a module programming error.
