Transmission Fluid Cooler: Installation

  1. Install the transmission fluid cooler.

    1. Slide the transmission fluid cooler on the coolant hose.
    2. Install the bolts.

      Torque

      : 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

    3. Position the coolant hose clamp.

  2. Connect the coolant hose to the transmission fluid cooler.

  3. Remove the clamps from the transmission fluid cooler coolant hoses.

  4. Connect the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube to the transmission fluid cooler.

  5. Install the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube secondary latch.

  6. Position the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube heat shield.

  7. Connect the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube to the transmission fluid cooler.

  8. Install the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube secondary latch.

  9. Position the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube heat shield.

  10. Check the transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
  11. Check the engine coolant level and adjust as necessary. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding 3.5L EcoBoost .
  12. Install the shield, the retainer and the bolts.

    Torque

    : 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
