Rear Door Alignment

Inspection 

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.
  1. Inspect the rear door-to-body dimensions.

Adjustment 

All alignments 

  1. Open the rear door.

  2. Remove the bolts and the striker assembly.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

    Rear door in and out, up and down alignment 

  3. Loosen the bolts to permit movement of the door. Loosen: : 2 turn(s)

  4. Adjust the door as required.

  5. Tighten the bolts.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

    Rear door fore, aft and tilt alignment 

  6. Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
  7. Remove the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner. Refer to: Front Seatbelt Retractor and Pretensioner .
  8. Open the front door.

  9. Pull and remove the foam.

  10. Loosen the nuts to permit movement of the door. Loosen: : 2 turn(s)

  11. Carefully close the rear door.

  12. Loosen the bolt to permit movement of the door. Loosen: : 2 turn(s)

  13. Carefully close the front door.

  14. Adjust the door as required.

  15. Carefully open the front door.

  17. Tighten the nuts.

    Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)

  18. Install the foam.

  19. Tighten the bolt.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  20. Install the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner. Refer to: Front Seatbelt Retractor and Pretensioner .
  21. Repower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Repowering .
  22. Check the active restraint system for correct operation. Refer to: Seatbelt Systems .

    All alignments 

  23. Install the striker assembly.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  24. Loosen the bolts to permit movement of the striker assembly. Loosen: : 2 turn(s)

  25. Tighten the bolts.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  26. Inspect the body-to-rear door dimensions.
