Pinpoint Test D : IWE Solenoid - Electrical Fault: Notes
Refer to Wiring Diagram Four Wheel Drive Systems for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation
The IWE solenoid receives power from the BJB fuse F39 (10A). In 2H, the TCCM will ground the IWE solenoid to allow vacuum to pass through the solenoid and to the IWEs. The TCCM IWE solenoid driver monitors the IWE ground circuit for open circuit, short to power, and short to ground. If an electrical fault is detected, the TCCM will store a DTC.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| C1979:11 | IWE Solenoid Circuit Failure: Circuit Short To Ground | This DTC sets when the TCCM detects a short to ground in the IWE solenoid circuit. The fault results in IWE disengaged all the time. |
| C1979:12 | IWE Solenoid Circuit Failure: Circuit Short To Battery | This DTC sets when the TCCM detects a short to voltage in the IWE solenoid circuit. The fault results in IWE engaged all the time. |
| C1979:13 | IWE Solenoid Circuit Failure: Circuit Open | This DTC sets when the TCCM detects an open circuit in the IWE solenoid circuit. The fault results in IWE engaged all the time. |
