Pinpoint Test U : The FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool: Notes

Diagnostic Overview 

Diagnostics in this article assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. REFER to: Diagnostic Methods .

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

For vehicles equipped with a touchscreen, the FCIM communicates with the scan tool through the I-CAN, and the IPC is used as the gateway module. For vehicles not equipped with a touchscreen, the FCIM does not communicate on the network.

Possible Sources 

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks 

Verify BCM fuse 79 (15A) is OK.
