Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

With the ignition ON, the GWM sends messages to the SECM over the HS-CAN 2 and through the SASM. If the SECM does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the SECM sets a DTC. 

For information on the messages set to the SECM from the GWM, refer to Network Message Chart in Description and Operation of appropriate Power Steering System article. 

SECM DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
U0146:00 Lost Communication With Gateway "A": No Sub Type Information Sets when the SECM detects any of the GWM messages is missing. This can be due to a GWM or SASM failure, a circuit failure on the HS-CAN2 or an excessive load on the network.
