Pinpoint Test I : DTC P230:14: Notes

Diagnostic Overview 

Diagnostics in this article assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. Refer to Diagnostic Methods in Service Information for information about these practices.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

The BCM provides a ground to the coil side of the BJB fuel pump relay.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
P0230:14 Fuel Pump Primary Circuit: Circuit Short To Ground or Open A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets when the BCM detects a short to ground or open In the fuel pump relay coil circuit.

Possible Sources 

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-Checks 

Inspect BJB fuse 65 (30A).
