Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The RCM continuously monitors the third row left seatbelt buckle sensor circuits for the following faults: 

If a fault is detected, the RCM stores DTC B140E:11, B140E:12, B140E:13 or B140E:1D in memory. A faulted third row left seatbelt buckle sensor or a fault on the third row left seatbelt buckle sensor circuits does not illuminate the airbag warning indicator.

PPT BL RCM DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
B140E:11 Third Row Driver Side Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Short to Ground Sets when the RCM senses a short to ground from the third row left seatbelt buckle sensor circuit for more than 6 seconds.
B140E:12 Third Row Driver Side Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Short to Battery Sets when the RCM senses a short to voltage from the third row left seatbelt buckle sensor circuit for more than 6 seconds.
B140E:13 Third Row Driver Side Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Open Sets when the RCM senses an open from either third row left seatbelt buckle sensor circuit for more than 6 seconds.
B140E:1D Third Row Driver Side Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Current Out of Range Sets when the RCM measures current outside of an acceptable range from the third row left seatbelt buckle sensor circuit for more than 6 seconds.
