DTC U0401: Invalid Data Received From ECM/PCM "A"

Failure	Action
00	This DTC sets if the ABS module receives invalid data in the brake pedal position; gear lever position or driven wheel torque messages. Using a diagnostic scan tool, RETRIEVE and REPAIR all non-network DTCs in the PCM and GWM. REFER to the appropriate Electronic Engine Controls article or Module Communications Network article. If no PCM or GWM DTCs are present, the DTC may be caused by an intermittent concern. SET the ignition to OFF. DISCONNECT and INSPECT all PCM and GWM electrical connectors and related in-line connectors for corrosion, bent pins, pushed-out pins and spread terminals. REPAIR as necessary.
86	This DTC sets if the GSM requests a parking brake application and the vehicle is not stopped, or the ABS module received an invalid neutral tow command message. DIAGNOSE all wheel speed sensor and parking brake DTCs first. Using a diagnostic scan tool, RETRIEVE and REPAIR all GSM DTCs. REFER to the appropriate Diagnosis and Testing in Automatic Transmission External Controls article. If no GSM DTCs are present, the DTC may be caused by an intermittent concern. SET the ignition to OFF. DISCONNECT and INSPECT all AWD module electrical connectors and related in-line connectors for corrosion, bent pins, pushed-out pins and spread terminals. REPAIR as necessary.
